Few weeks ago I proposed trying Daily Goal for improving team focus on goal. It was initially done for Kanban (read about Daily Goal concept) but we transformed to Scrum later on. From current point I can say that defining it on Daily Scrum does more harass than actuall value.
Main reasons why I think it was counterproductive:
- Goal should be common throughout team, but this is really hard to achieve when we are in middle of Sprint with multiple things running simultaneously.
- Multiple times we ended in goals so obvious as – “do our job”.
- It added unnecessary complexity to Daily
- It actually drags attention out of the Sprint Goal
Based on above in future I will think about Daily Goals as abount anti-pattern.
